Its been about a month since I was last on here, and I got to say its been one of the most exciting months of my life so far, and we're barely just getting going.

The past month has been spent in Vicksburg, Mississippi on hardcore training, diversifying my skills in a number of fields ranging from Leadership to Diversity, Active Shooter, Mitigation efforts involving various disasters, Public Information Officer, setting up Joint Field Offices (central command center during a disaster), and about 16 other courses and skill sets.

This time next week i'll be deploying to Washington D.C. to take part in the Capstorm Drill, a worst-case nation-wide disaster scenario lasting one week involving a simulated 9.2 earthquake in Alaska followed by a nuclear weapons incident in Colorado to add to the chaos. We're anticipating to be working the equivalency of a month for the average worker in 6 days; yep that's right, we're gonna be pulling 14-17 hour days during this drill (in addition to the other duties I have to perform with my other stations in NCCC).

Its gonna be chaos, but after a month of hardcore training with little opportunity to get out in the field, we're chomping at the bit for some serious action.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire, all forevermore.
